My Journey of Holistic Health & Healing

I am Trisha -- nice to meet you! I can't wait to support you with your health and healing journey.

Having 25+ years in the health and wellness industry I hold a B.S. in Exercise Sport Science, M.S. in Health Psychology, multiple health coaching certifications, and am a Board Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner.

My journey of leading a healthy and non-toxic life was put into overdrive upon my own personal breast cancer diagnosis in January of 2023. With no genetic reasons for my diagnosis, I knew it had to be related to lifestyle and environmental factors. I went on a mission to learn everything I could about ways to naturally heal my body and prevent cancer showing up again.

Being in the industry I had always been conscious of staying active and cautious of what I was eating but was not militant about it. In 2011 I started slowly changing out the products I was using in my home to non-toxic formulas. I spent the next several years continuing to swap out my hair care, skin care, make-up, and kitchen storage to less toxic brands. Over these same years I was having increasingly worse digestive issues starting from a mud-run obstacle course I did in 2012. I had diarrhea and vomiting for 3 weeks. I ended up in urgent care getting IVs for dehydration two separate times and was on multiple antibiotics.

Once I finally 'healed' from that 'unknown' illness I had intermittent diarrhea, vomiting, and constipation cycles. Eventually they became more and more frequent with the addition of abdominal cramping and foul smelling gas that was so bad I would skip activities with friends because I didn't know if I was going to 'have a flareup.'

In 2022 I also started experiencing weight gain, night sweats, foggy thinking, skin changes, sleep issues, & a general sense of feeling 'off.' I started with hormone testing & my testosterone was tanked. I stopped the pill & started testosterone pellets. I also had a colonoscopy & endoscopy where they discovered 7-8 benign growths between the two (a lot for my age). So, I decided to also have my 3rd annual mammogram even though they said I didn't need it based on my 1st two being 'normal.' Low & behold they discovered suspicious spots in my right breast.

Two biopsies confirmed Ductal Carcinoma In situ (DCIS). Oncology suggested a lumpectomy with radiation even though we didn't know if the spots were 2 separate ones or one big area we couldn't see all of in mammography imaging. I requested an MRI for additional imaging. I thank God every day I did. The MRI showed an additional, more aggressive, cancer in my left breast - Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC) - not previously detected.

I immediately switched to a plant-based diet, started high dose Vitamin C IVs, and added supplements to boost my immune system. In March of 2023 I had a double mastectomy followed by 4 months of weekly visits to my plastic surgeon for reconstruction 'fills.' In Aug 2023 I had my exchange surgery to replace spacers with implants. Two weeks later a blood vessel burst in my left breast, and I had to have emergency surgery to repair. In March of 2024 I had a preventative hysterectomy, and I am hopeful that will be my last major surgery related to breast cancer.

This whole experience lit a fire in me to learn more about natural ways to heal the body in order to prevent this (and other) life changing diagnoses for myself and others. When I found the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition program, I KNEW I had found my purpose. To become a certified Holistic Health Practitioner and be able to keep healing myself while also being able to support you. Can't wait to meet you!
